This litter's dam, our Epic, is the daughter of our #1 Whippet in America for 2006 and 2007, Moxi, named one of the "top whippets of all time" by several of the breed's preeminent experts. Epic's own accomplishments shine brightly including Specialty Best in Show and Hound Group wins, AWC National Specialty and Regional Specialty Select Awards alongside her renowned mother, the top specialty-winning bitch in breed history. A Top 20 Whippet in the US for 2008, Epic is a pride and joy of personality, playfulness and conformation excellence. She was featured BOB
whippet on NBC's National Dog Show and made the news at the
Eukanuba National Championship (Invitational).
Handsome Cowboy of Maverick Ranch is a sire of note, producing a number of beautiful champions already. Cowboy was bred by his owners Rachel Amado, Cindy Chadwick and Rosanna Sutton. We're grateful to Cowboy's "family" for making this breeding possible.
And our most gracious thanks to Deann Christianson of Chelsea Whippets, for her alchemy and encyclopedic knowledge of the breed, as she recommended this complementary cross.
Ten pups
born on March 26, 2010 -- five males and five
females -- exhibit a lovely arrray of markings and colors, and the spirit representative of the pedigree. We'll continue to post photos as this exciting new brood, the "Rise From Fire" litter,
grows up.

April 9, 2010 (Week Two)
Eyes and ears are starting to open - to the exciting sights and sounds of the world, dear puppies! And, oh, are they starting to amble. They've discovered they have legs, and are taking their first, bold but wobbly forays to Mom and the milk bar. Epic and all the babies are doing great. Pup noses do not darken immediately, but over time. However, coat colors at
birth are darker and more concentrated -- facial markings will lighten
and brighten, masking and sabling may fade or disappear. For examples,
see the difference from birth over time on previous pup litters here and here. Click on photos below to enlarge.
